Entry Level - System Administrator Overnight/Day Shift Operations Monitoring Engineer Evening and/or night shifts (7 pm to 5 am or 9 am to 7 pm EST @ 4 days/week). USC – Eligible to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Location: REMOTE SUMMARY: Join our team as an Overnight/Day Systems Administrator where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our production systems. You'll be the first line of defense, monitoring and triaging issues, with the opportunity to escalate and implement solutions across a diverse range of servers, from Microsoft to Linux. This position offers a unique blend of challenge and opportunity, with a focus on maintaining 100% availability of our services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Utilize industry-standard tools to monitor IT systems and identify potential issues. • Follow established procedures for overnight... operations and promptly address any discrepancies. • Conduct eyes-on-glass monitoring, perform initial troubleshooting, and manage escalations as needed. • Document all site issues using our issue tracking program. • Contribute creatively to the enhancement of site features and functionality. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Solid understanding of Linux and Windows command line interfaces. • Ability to grasp the impact of system issues on business operations. • Eagerness to learn and grow in a Linux and Windows environment. • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong troubleshooting mentality. • Excellent prioritization and time management skills. • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively. • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience working with VA or other Federal Government systems. • Military veteran status. • Familiarity with AWS Cloud services, particularly AWS CloudWatch. • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as AppDynamics and Splunk. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Security, Computer Security, or a related field. • 2+ years of relevant experience; or 5 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education. SCHEDULE: • Evening and/or night shifts (7 pm to 5 am or 9 am to 7 pm EST @ 4 days/week).
