Job Overview We are a prominent manufacturer in the premium raw pet food sector, seeking a dedicated Buyer to join our expanding team. This pivotal role involves ensuring our beloved pets have access to the finest ingredients available in the market. Key Responsibilities • Identify and procure high-quality raw materials essential for our pet food recipes, including meat, poultry, vitamins, and packaging. • Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers to guarantee timely deliveries and competitive pricing, with opportunities to attend industry conferences for networking. • Uphold stringent quality standards for all ingredients to maintain our reputation for excellence. • Accurately generate purchase orders to support seamless production operations. • Collaborate effectively with production, quality assurance, and finance teams to ensure cohesive workflow. • Analyze procurement data to uncover trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and refine our processes. • Ensure compliance with all purchasing regulations and practices. Required Skills • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. • Demonstrated expertise in procurement, purchasing, or inventory management, preferably within the food manufacturing industry. • Proficient negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers. • Familiarity with inventory management systems and ERP software is advantageous. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to work collaboratively with diverse teams. • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. • Capability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Qualifications • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within the food manufacturing context. • A track record of successfully negotiating contracts with suppliers is a plus. • Knowledge of import/export regulations may be beneficial (if applicable).
