Job title: Long Term Sub for Spanish Teacher Company: East Haven Public Schools Job description : The successful candidate must currently hold CT Certification in Spanish (023) The successful candidate must have in-depth knowledge of: Strong classroom management and organizational skills Developing standards based lessons Differentiation Assessment (summative and formative) Reports to: Middle School Principal This position is full-time for an unspecified length of time. The salary is $135.00 per day from day 1-40 and increases to $292.11 per day starting at day 41. There are no benefits There are no benefits associated with this position Responsibilities & Duties: Ability to create a classroom environment to develop competencies in speaking, reading and writing in a foreign language. Convey to students the culture of the countries where the language is spoken. Knowledge and successful experience: Implementing research-based instructional practices Using a variety of assessment tools and analyzing student data to drive instruction Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, support staff, and administrators Ability to think flexibly and adapt to the specific instructional needs of students Willingness to collect data to measure impact on instruction and student achievement Willingness to develop goals related to school improvement plans Willingness to develop and revise curriculum and various types of assessments that align with district initiatives This job description is not, nor is it intended to be, a complete statement of all duties, functions and responsibilities which comprise this position.
