As we continue to expand our operations in Japan, we are seeking a strategic and experienced Operations Director to lead and oversee our business operations in the region. This role is crucial in driving business growth and ensuring the successful execution of Binance's strategic initiatives in Japan.

As the Operations Director for Binance in Japan, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the company's operations to achieve business objectives and drive growth. You will work closely with the General Manager and his leadership team to develop and implement strategies that lead to an exponential business growth while reinforcing trustworthy relationships with key stakeholders in Japan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business planning and development, operations management, market research, a deep understanding of the Web3 industry, and a proven track record of success in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the business functions within the Japan team and make regular/ad-hoc reports to the MD, BoD and other committee meetings.
  • Lead developing business plans with the GM and implementing each initiative.
  • Oversee all the local business activities including product localization, business development, partnership, marketing, etc.
  • Ensure that the business functions within the Japan team have effective collaboration with each other to achieve business goals.
  • Drive discussions for launching new products and services with external stakeholders including the local regulators.
  • Monitor commercial OKRs and KPIs and propose action plans for GM.
  • Coordinate with the central teams and make sure of a timely launch of projects.
  • Pursue strategic partnerships and opportunities for growth in the Japanese market.
  • Identify risks inherent to each initiative and work together with the risk management team to implement effective mitigation measures.
  • Coach and mentor team members in tackling challenges and acquiring necessary skills.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of success in managing operations within the financial services or cryptocurrency industry.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and execute effective operational strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Japanese market and regulatory environment.
  • Proficiency in Japanese and English languages.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of integrity and compliance.
