Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Remote · USA Full-time New today

Founded in 2018, Causaly’s AI platform for enterprise-scale scientific research redefines the limits of human productivity. We give humans a powerful new way to find, visualize and interpret biomedical knowledge and automate critical research workflows, accelerating solutions for some of the greatest health challenges we face.

We work with some of the world's largest biopharma companies and institutions on use cases spanning Drug Discovery, Safety and Competitive Intelligence. You can read more about how we accelerate knowledge acquisition and improve decision making in our blog posts here:  Blog - Causaly

We are backed by top VCs including ICONIQ, Index Ventures, Pentech and Marathon.

We’re hiring a DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team. You’ll play a key role in designing and scaling the infrastructure that powers our AI-driven applications, ensuring our systems are fast, secure, and reliable as we grow.

What You'll Do

• Build and scale cloud-native infrastructure, primarily on Amazon Web Services (AWS). • Contribute to architectural decisions for platform services and system design. • Automate infrastructure deployment using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code best practices. • Manage and orchestrate containerized services with Kubernetes. • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to support fast, secure delivery. • Implement and maintain observability tooling for monitoring, logging, and alerting. • Collaborate with engineering teams—including AI/ML, backend, and data—to support development and production workflows. • Help drive improvements in system performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.

What We’re Looking For Required:

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, with additional exposure to GCP or Azure a plus. • Proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code principles. • Experience managing Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications. • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps tooling. • Experience with observability tools (e.g. Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana). • Strong scripting skills (e.g. Bash, Python).

• Ability to contribute to architectural planning and system design. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, especially in complex or ambiguous environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Elasticsearch in production. • Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure or data/compute-heavy environments. • Working knowledge of cloud architecture and distributed systems. • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis. • Experience working directly with internal or external customers to support and troubleshoot complex systems. • Background in a startup or high-growth tech environment.

Why Join Causaly?

Meaningful mission – Accelerate life-saving scientific discoveries. • Modern tech stack – AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and more. • Hybrid working – 3–5 days per week onsite at our central London office (Farringdon). • Collaborative culture – Work with smart, kind people who care deeply about what they do. • Great benefits – Private medical & dental insurance, pension scheme, wellness and learning budgets, and regular team events.

We are on a mission to accelerate scientific breakthroughs for ALL humankind, and we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and fairly consider qualified candidates without regard to race, ethnic or national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, genetics, age, religion or belief, marital/civil partnership status, domestic / family status, veteran status or any other difference.
