CLX Car Advocate, File Owner

We’re looking for a highly motivated Car Claims Advocate, with a lot of positive energy and a genuine passion for helping others.

Specializing in auto property damage liability claims, you’ll use your investigative skills to help us settle losses quickly and efficiently, surpassing customer expectations along the way. You’ll leverage your deep policy knowledge and sharp interpersonal skills to explain coverage decisions in plain English, without relying on insurance jargon.

• Investigate and process auto property damage claims according to company policies and state or federal laws

• Gather and evaluate police reports, records, and witness statements

• Interview claimants, witnesses, and other parties to determine claim legitimacy and liability

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all claim activity

• Collaborate with legal counsel and other departments when needed to support the resolution of claims

• Communicate claim status and outcomes to all relevant parties, professionally and empathetically

• Handle Theft and Fire losses

• Stay current on industry trends and regulations

• Play a key part in reaching team goals, meeting KPIs and driving overall results

• Identify and report suspicious or potentially fraudulent claims

• 1+ years of property damage claim-handling experience

• Knowledge of insurance laws and regulations

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency with claims management software and Google

• The desire to work in a unique, dynamic, and fast-paced startup environment

• Surplus of empathy, patience, and positivity

• Comfortable with and adaptable to new technology and business tools

• Lemonade expects all advocates to have and maintain a Property and Casualty adjusters license in good standing. If you do not currently have a license, our team will work with you to obtain the license within your first 3 months.

Lemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $51,000-$58,500 annually, plus equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
