Staff Data Scientist
Your Impact
Handshake is seeking a Staff Data Scientist, Product Analytics to lead how we measure and grow the impact of our products across students, employers, and university partners. You’ll partner with product, engineering, and analytics leaders to deliver strategic insights, architect experimentation frameworks, and shape key product and growth decisions.
Your Role• Define and track critical business and product metrics with product and engineering leaders
• Lead analytics workstreams to uncover trends and drive product innovation
• Design and analyze experiments to guide strategic product development
• Build and scale dashboards and reporting systems for data-driven decisions
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other data scientists and analysts
Your Experience• 8+ years in data science, analytics, or a related quantitative field
• Proven success using data to shape product strategy and drive impact
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python or R
• Deep expertise in experimental design and A/B testing
• Strong communication skills for technical and executive audiences
Bonus Areas of Expertise• Experience with dbt or similar data modeling frameworks
• Leadership in developing data-informed product strategies
• Contributions to the data science or analytics community
• Experience in multi-sided marketplace or platform environments
• Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker, Hex, or Mode
