We are looking for an ambitious and visionary editor to lead our Pacific NW Magazine team. As the editor, you will be responsible for charting the overall editorial strategy, working with senior editors and writers to conceive and execute stories, and managing a team of staffers and freelancers.

Requirements

  • 5 years of management experience, preferably in a news operation or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
  • Big-picture thinking and demonstrated ability to conceive and execute well-reported enterprise stories, narratives and packages that include visual and multimedia elements.
  • Ability to guide reporters and help them prioritize, brainstorm and talk through stories.
  • The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • A strong level of accuracy, honesty, fairness and knowledge of libel laws.
  • Cultural competence and familiarity with best journalistic practices related to equity and inclusion.
  • Excellent grammar and language skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in both the print and digital news space.
