Job Description

As a Cybersecurity Analyst at Southwest Airlines, you will be responsible for analyzing and mitigating cyber threats, collaborating with experts to develop response strategies, and enhancing our defenses. You will have the opportunity to work on real-world digital challenges, gaining hands-on experience in identifying, mitigating, and recovering from cyber threats. Your role will involve working closely with our team to analyze breaches, develop rapid response techniques, and strengthen our security measures.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Collaborate with business clients to conduct needs analysis and develop technical solutions
• Ensure solutions are aligned with internal tooling, business processes, and departmental standards
• Manage timelines for planning, coding, testing, and implementing solutions
• Act as a resource to ensure effective communication between business and IT teams
• Participate in systems and acceptance testing

Requirements and Preferences

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
• Basic knowledge of information security and risk mitigation principles, theories, and practices preferred
• Experience or exposure to Proofpoint PhishAlarm preferred
• Experience or knowledge of ServiceNow Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) preferred
• Strong understanding of project management techniques, including the ability to plan, manage, and maintain complex programs
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels within the organization
• Basic knowledge of technical environment required
• Experience with Agile approaches preferred
• Coursework or experience related to Cybersecurity preferred
