Senior Software Engineer, Marketing Technology - Remote Opportunity

As a remote-eligible role, you'll have the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US, with occasional visits to our offices or offsites.

Airbnb's Marketing Technology team is responsible for building and operating a scalable platform that enables marketing and product teams to engage with customers effectively. Our platform reaches millions of customers daily through various channels, including email, push notifications, SMS, and external ad platforms like Google and Facebook. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of our platform, working on projects that drive substantial business impact and enable numerous stakeholders across the company.

The Impact You'll Make

• Lead efforts to build a scalable marketing platform that delivers personalized content to Airbnb users on-site and off-site.
• Design and implement systems, solutions, and operating platforms with comprehensive testing and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Performance Marketing to drive growth through Google Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Affiliates Marketing (Metasearch, Influencer), and measure performance for Brand Marketing on Facebook.

A Typical Day

• Develop custom solutions to integrate with external ad platforms via API.
• Design and implement privacy-centric marketing event tracking solutions to support business operations.
• Automate production pipelines and integrate with upstream/downstream data sources E2E.
• Build backend services for internal tools like Analytics Hub, Dimension Manager, and Ads Connect.

Your Expertise

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of industry experience in a fast-paced tech environment.
• Working experience in distributed systems (Java), Big Data (Hive/Presto/Spark), Python, and SQL.
• Design experience in scalable API and reliable production systems.
