Data Science Intern - Summer 2024

Join Delta's Data Science team for a transformative summer experience! This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated student to contribute to a leading transportation company. As a Data Science Intern, you'll analyze complex transportation data, develop predictive models using Python and SQL, and gain hands-on experience impacting critical business decisions. You'll work collaboratively with experienced professionals, receive mentorship, and present your findings to key stakeholders. This is a 13-week, full-time, summer internship program (May 13 - August 9, 2024) based in Atlanta, GA or Minneapolis St. Paul, MN. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze transportation data from various sources to identify trends and insights.
  • Develop and implement Python scripts and statistical models to predict performance and optimize operations.
  • Collaborate with team members to propose and evaluate potential improvements to airline operations.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Work independently while seeking guidance and feedback on complex problems.
  • Document work and present results to stakeholders at the end of the internship.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Programming, or a related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Available for a full-time, 13-week summer internship (May 13 - August 9, 2024).
  • Ability to work from either the Atlanta, GA or Minneapolis St. Paul, MN office.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with AWS is a plus.
