Sr. Software Engineer, Applied AI

We are building next-generation AI capabilities to power our products and services. As an Applied AI Engineer, you will design, implement, and optimize AI-driven features, integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and multimodal AI solutions into our technology stack. Your work will directly impact how our customers interact with and benefit from AI-powered experiences, bridging cutting-edge research with practical, scalable applications.

Essential Functions & Impact Areas

  • Design, build, and integrate AI models, with a focus on LLM integration, fine-tuning, and prompt engineering.
  • Develop and deploy multimodal AI solutions that combine text, image, audio, and other data sources to deliver enhanced user experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to identify opportunities for AI-driven innovation.
  • Optimize model performance for accuracy, efficiency, and scalability in production environments.
  • Implement AI toolchains, pipelines, and frameworks to accelerate experimentation and deployment.
  • Stay ahead of emerging AI research, frameworks, and best practices, and translate them into practical engineering solutions.
  • Contribute to the company’s AI strategy, ensuring our architecture supports rapid iteration and experimentation.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years focused on applied AI or machine learning.
  • Proven experience with LLM integration (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, Hugging Face) and fine-tuning on domain-specific data.
  • Familiarity with multimodal AI systems and related tooling (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases)
  • Strong proficiency in Python and at least one modern frontend or backend framework (e.g., React, Node.js, FastAPI, Flask).
  • Experience with ML lifecycle tools (MLflow, Weights & Biases) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Ability to translate ambiguous product goals into AI-powered solutions with measurable impact.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work across disciplines and explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for building real-world AI applications that make a difference.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience deploying and maintaining production-scale AI applications.
  • Solid Background in NLP, computer vision, or multimodal fusion techniques.
  • Knowledge of reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) and advanced fine-tuning methods.
  • Contributions to open-source AI projects or research publications.

Salary Range: $180-$200k (placement in range dependent on location and experience)
