Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Data Analyst and Entry Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our Studio Research and Analysis group, you will play a critical role in supporting our Disney Product, Marketing, and Content Curation teams. Your primary responsibilities will include analyzing and coordinating data, providing support for quantitative and qualitative research initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with a wide range of qualitative and quantitative analysis activities, including data collection and preparation, extraction and analysis of data from various sources, and building summaries, tables, and report sections.
  • Join disparate databases using SQL to aid in the daily operations of our Disney customer experience tracking project.
  • Collaborate with different teams to conduct research at Disney, including communicating project objectives, business requirements, and timelines to efficiently target, optimize, and enhance our datasets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with research partners within the team and from other divisions of the company, as well as external vendors.
  • Analyze and prepare ongoing and ad-hoc reports involving quantitative and qualitative data for various groups within the product marketing, engagement, and product strategy of Disney and the Disney Streaming Bundle.
  • Manage assigned projects, implement quality assurance processes, and report tasks and status to supervisor(s) to ensure completion within established timelines.
  • Work with the Sr. Manager and team to ensure that each outcome is strategically significant and drives key business decisions.
  • Collaborate with the team and research groups within Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Maintain excellent verbal and written knowledge of data elements and requirements.
  • Respond to critical data requests from internal clients.
  • Support the presentation of findings based on research conducted and contribute to related business discussions.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Proficiency with SQL, with the ability to extract and join disparate data sources.
  • Ability to extract data and combine with other data sources to develop a rich, complete picture for the business.
  • Strong quantitative thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to create clear and concise visual presentations.
  • Strong multitasking capabilities and the ability to work effectively in a environment of tight deadlines and constant change.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:

  • Experience with data processing tools (e.g. SPSS, Q, MarketSight).
  • Experience with survey tools (e.g. Translate, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).
  • Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, ideally cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar.
  • Knowledge of R, Python, SAS, STATA, or similar programming languages.
  • Postgraduate degree in Market Research or Statistics.
  • Quantitative analysis background, either supplier side or client-side.
  • Experience with analyzing survey data to extract meaningful insights.
  • Experience with subscription-based business models and strategy.
