DLA Piper is a collaborative and supportive law firm seeking a Corporate Transactions Assistant to join their corporate legal team. The role involves assisting attorneys and clients with financings, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate governance matters, ensuring all transaction documents are organized and up to date.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Experience and/ or interest in learning and working with cutting edge legal tools and software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to regularly interact with both clients and legal team members
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail skills to manage and track legal documents and spreadsheets with multiple users and versions and prepare and maintain checklists
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Organize documents for attorney review
  • As a Corporate Transactions Assistant, you will assist attorneys, paralegals, and clients execute corporate transactions
  • This will include attention to many organizational aspects of deals, including tracking, organizing, and editing documents, researching public records, assisting with electronic closing volumes, creating and maintaining signature tracking spreadsheets, entering data, and maintaining corporate records
  • You will also perform transaction research and assist the legal team in closing large transactions using electronic mail and signature collection and tracking process
  • You will obtain documents and other information from governmental agencies or public agencies and information from accounting, timekeeping, and attorneys

  • Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills necessary to manage volumes of documents, binders, letters, charts, etc
  • Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines
  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year demonstrated success working in a fast-paced environment
  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner
  • Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product
  • Successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required
  • Foster positive work relationships
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as (a) working at a computer for extended periods of time, including on-screen reading and typing; (b) participating in digital/virtual conference calls; (c) participating in meetings as needed
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform all other duties, tasks or projects as assigned
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Paralegal certificate preferred
  • Office experience in a law firm environment supporting paralegals and/or attorneys preferred
