Energy Research Associate II
NMR Group, Inc. is an employee-owned consulting firm specializing in the research and evaluation of energy-efficiency and clean-energy programs. They are seeking an Energy Research Associate II to design and implement surveys, conduct interviews, and perform quantitative analyses related to energy performance.
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing surveys
- Conducting semi-structured interviews
- Performing descriptive quantitative analyses using R, SPSS, or similar data analysis packages
- Conducting onsite audits of the energy performance of homes and businesses
- Developing energy analyses and energy models
- Writing clear and concise research summaries, memoranda, and reports
Skills
- Master's level education or prior work in environmental science, policy, economics, sociology, or other social science programs
- Ability to think critically and creatively
- Initiative and willingness to ask questions
- Ability to contribute to a culture of teamwork and employee ownership
- Ability to share knowledge freely and offer unique perspectives
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Commitment to sustainability and high-quality research
- Certification as a Home Energy Rating System rater (training paid by NMR)
- Ability to perform onsite audits of homes and businesses
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time for several consecutive months, sometimes requiring overnight stays
