Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team on a 40-hour remote evening contract. As a key member of our customer service team, you'll be responsible for resolving patient medical billing inquiries, collecting payments, and assisting with patient inquiries regarding their medically billed charges. This is a high-volume role that requires a friendly attitude, excellent communication skills, and a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

* Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to resolve patient medical billing inquiries

  • Collect payments from patients and respond to billing-related inquiries
  • Assist patients with understanding their medically billed charges and provide clear explanations
  • Work closely with patients to resolve complex billing issues and ensure timely resolution
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient interactions and billing information
  • Participate in online team meetings and company Q&A forums to stay informed and engaged
  • Meet daily quality and productivity quotas, as well as contribute to the overall success of the project
  • Maintain accurate time tracking and reporting
  • Read and follow up on denials and appeals
  • Be available to work Monday through Friday during Hawaii Standard Time
  • Possess excellent computer skills and ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously
  • Demonstrate a friendly and professional demeanor in all interactions with patients and colleagues

Requirements

* 1 year of experience in medical billing and health insurance

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in resolving patient billing inquiries
  • Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
  • Previous experience working with an electronic medical system required
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems and software programs
  • High-speed internet required (speed test will be conducted after initial interview)
  • Friendly and professional attitude
  • Ability to work in a remote, quiet environment
  • Must have a Windows-based personal computer (no Chromebooks) capable of running multiple systems and software programs
  • Must be available to complete mandatory on-boarding training

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a customer service role, preferably in the healthcare industry

  • Knowledge of medical billing and health insurance regulations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Experience with electronic medical systems and software programs
  • Strong computer skills and ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously
