Our Information Adventures team is the engine that unlocks the full worth of arenaflex’s data, turning complex data streams into clear, strategic insights that empower vendors, partners, and internal product teams to make faster, smarter decisions.

Why This Role Matters

As a Data Analyst III within the arenaflex Information Adventures group, you will be at the heart of a data‑productization journey that starts with a simple idea and ends with a market‑ready solution. You will collaborate with cross‑functional partners—including arenaflex Global Tech, Data Management, and product teams—to design, build, and refine data‑driven products that shape the future of retail. Your work will directly influence how millions of customers experience the arenaflex brand, and you will have the opportunity to see the impact of your analyses on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Preparation & Cleansing: Extract, transform, and load (ETL) large‑scale datasets, removing errors, identifying outliers, and structuring data for downstream analysis.
  • Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Apply statistical techniques and visual analytics to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies that inform business hypotheses.
  • Programming & Automation: Write clean, maintainable code—primarily in Python—to automate data pipelines, build reusable modules, and support rapid experimentation.
  • Insight Generation: Conduct hypothesis‑driven investigations, develop predictive models, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for product and strategy teams.
  • Visualization & Reporting: Design intuitive dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or Looker, ensuring stakeholders can easily digest complex insights.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Partner with developers, designers, and product managers to understand requirements, share data stories, and co‑create solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Data Governance & Ethics: Evaluate the ethical implications of data usage, storage, and analysis, championing best practices around privacy, security, and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance data quality, and introduce new analytical techniques that keep arenaflex at the forefront of data innovation.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in data analysis, data engineering, or a related field, preferably within retail, e‑commerce, or financial services.
  • Strong command of SQL for data extraction and manipulation; proven ability to write complex queries against large relational databases.
  • Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit‑learn) for data cleaning, analysis, and model development.
  • Hands‑on experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker, and a track record of delivering stakeholder‑focused dashboards.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear analytical approaches and data‑driven recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience troubleshooting data quality issues and implementing data‑quality frameworks.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and adapt to shifting priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data‑warehouse solutions (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Exposure to machine‑learning pipelines, including model deployment and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of data‑privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and experience implementing compliance controls.
  • Prior experience working on cross‑functional product teams in a large‑scale organization.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Mindset: Curiosity‑driven, data‑first thinking with a knack for spotting hidden insights.
  • Technical Rigor: Ability to write production‑grade code, conduct reproducible analyses, and maintain documentation.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of retail dynamics, supply‑chain considerations, and consumer behavior.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building trust with engineers, designers, and senior leaders.
