[Remote] Project Manager - Mining
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SWCA Environmental Consultants is a growing employee-owned firm providing a full spectrum of environmental services. They are seeking a Project Manager – Mining to manage mine permitting and environmental projects, ensuring compliance and delivering project objectives on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage medium to large-sized mine permitting, owner’s environmental, NEPA, compliance monitoring, and closure/reclamation support projects ensuring project deliverables meet required standards
- Provide technical, planning, and permitting support to project teams in Wyoming and neighboring states
- Serve as project manager for assigned clients, collaborating with team members to deliver project objectives
- Support the execution of mining projects within the Northern Plains sub-region through effective project management
- Assist with mining projects in other regions as needed, working under the direction of senior staff
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and stakeholders within assigned mining projects
- Contribute to SWCA’s reputation for successfully supporting mining projects with challenging environmental and regulatory requirements
- Identify and recommend innovative approaches within assigned projects and stay informed about developments in the mining industry
- Ensure assigned projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet client expectations and internal requirements
- Drive compliance of safety policies and reporting requirements to ensure overall team safety
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Earth Sciences, Environmental Science, engineering or related technical field
- 7 years of project management experience and in the mining industry (preferred)
- Strong computer skills for database work and proficiency in MS Office
- A working understanding of agency internal processes and procedures and with federal land management and regulatory agencies, such as the BLM, USFS, NPS, BOR, DOE, DOT, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), and/or U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). Wyoming Agency knowledge would be considered a plus
- Strong business development skills as a 'seller/doer' to develop productive business relationships with agency, client, and industry contacts
