[Remote] Operations Manager, Electrical Testing Group

Atlas Connections is a national engineering firm seeking an entrepreneurial Operations Manager to establish a new regional electrical testing and commissioning operation. The role involves leading day-to-day execution, managing a technical team, and overseeing P&L while building client relationships and implementing standardized processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead all regional operations, including scheduling, resource planning, quality assurance, safety, and project delivery
- Manage field operations for protective relaying, SCADA, and IEC 61850 systems commissioning
- Own the regional P&L, revenue targets, and performance goals
- Recruit, train, and develop a skilled team of field engineers and technicians
- Build client relationships and vendor partnerships within the region
- Implement and maintain standardized operating systems, testing standards, and documentation processes
- Run the business on an EOS framework: own the scorecard, lead weekly L10s, and manage to clear KPIs
Skills
- 7+ years in power systems testing, commissioning, or utility operations
- Strong understanding of protective relaying, automation, and SCADA systems
- Proven leadership managing people, budgets, and project delivery
- An entrepreneurial mindset that thrives on building structure from scratch
- Excellent communication, organization, and conflict-resolution skills
- Willingness to travel regionally and work in a dynamic field environment
- Experience with EOS or a similar operating system
- NETA certification is a strong plus
