[Remote] Business Development Specialist

They are seeking a Business Development Specialist to lead initiatives, develop strategic plans, and build client relationships to expand their market presence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to expand our presence in the low voltage markets. Assist project teams throughout the preconstruction and build process to help ensure division success and sustainability
- Lead business development initiatives, including prospecting new clients, cold calling, networking, proposal writing, and negotiating contracts for large and small -scale projects involving structured cabling, telecom infrastructure, and integrated systems
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry partners
- Lead negotiations and contract discussions to secure favorable terms for the company
- Collaborate closely with the technical and project teams to tailor solutions that meet customer needs
- Monitor division performance metrics, implement process improvements, and report on progress to executive leadership
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify emerging opportunities
- Prepare and present weekly updates on business development activities, including forecasts and performance metrics
- Assist, manage and/or mentor team of project managers, and technical staff. Contribute to a high-performance culture focused on customer satisfaction and innovation
- Collaborate with internal teams on bid preparation, system design recommendations, pricing strategies, and risk management for complex projects
- Experience managing P&L for a division or business unit, with skills in financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Knowledge of emerging technologies like edge computing, smart buildings, or unified communications
