Role Overview – Associate Director, Customer & Product Insights

The Associate Director, Customer & Product Insights will spearhead the research and insight function that fuels arenaflex’s value‑focused portfolio of brands. Reporting to senior leadership, you will partner with product, marketing, and analytics teams to shape the roadmap for customer‑centric innovation. Your work will directly influence how arenaflex designs, positions, and delivers best‑in‑class value propositions that resonate across diverse market segments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Research Planning: Collaborate with brand and product leaders to define, prioritize, and execute a multi‑year research agenda that aligns with business objectives and market opportunities.
  • Resource Management: Allocate people, budgets, and vendor partnerships efficiently, ensuring each initiative has the right mix of talent and tools to succeed.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Mentor, coach, and grow a high‑performing team of researchers, guiding them through complex projects while fostering a culture of rigor, curiosity, and storytelling.
  • Vendor Oversight: Manage relationships with external research agencies, guaranteeing the use of cutting‑edge methodologies and maintaining fiscal discipline.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing Insights, Analytics, and Intelligence groups to build an integrated, 360‑degree view of customers, prospects, and competitive dynamics.
  • Executive Advocacy: Serve as the voice of the customer in senior leadership forums, translating data into compelling narratives that drive strategic decisions.
  • Performance Management: Set clear performance metrics, provide regular feedback, and champion professional development for each team member.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of four years of professional work experience.
  • Six or more years of hands‑on experience in marketing, customer experience (CX), or user experience (UX) research.
  • Proven ability to design and execute both qualitative and quantitative research programs that address complex business challenges.
  • Deep expertise in advanced quantitative techniques such as MaxDiff, conjoint analysis, segmentation, cluster analysis, and Gabor‑Granger studies.
  • Strong background in qualitative methods—including focus groups, in‑depth interviews, diary studies, and ethnography—and the ability to synthesize findings into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional storytelling skills, with a track record of turning raw data into clear, persuasive narratives for senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Strengths

  • Ten or more years of professional experience, with at least eight years dedicated to marketing, CX, or UX insights.
  • Four or more years of experience managing a team of three or more researchers.
  • Demonstrated success in shaping value‑proposition development through data‑driven insights.
  • Ability to leverage secondary data, market trends, and macro‑economic indicators to enrich primary research findings.
  • Experience coaching multiple analysts simultaneously, raising the overall quality of insight delivery.
  • Comfort presenting to C‑suite executives and establishing yourself as a trusted consumer champion.
  • Strong business acumen within the telecom or related technology sectors, with a genuine passion for consumer segmentation research.
  • Proven influence and persuasion skills across cross‑functional teams, especially in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments.
  • Track record of introducing innovative research methodologies or operational efficiencies that improve speed, accuracy, or impact.
