About the position The Insurance Defense Attorney will be part of the personal injury protection (PIP) unit, focusing on motor vehicle insurance defense litigation. This role involves providing legal representation to Progressive insureds and the Progressive Insurance Companies in various litigation aspects, from case initiation to resolution. The attorney will prepare legal documents, negotiate settlements, and collaborate with clients and claims partners to ensure effective litigation management. Responsibilities • Provide legal representation in motor vehicle insurance defense litigation. , • Handle cases from beginning to end, including preparing legal pleadings and motions. , • Negotiate settlements and prepare trial briefs. , • Work closely with clients and claims partners to prepare timely litigation reports. , • Analyze written discovery, depositions, and medical records to assess claims. , • Determine risk exposure and value of claims. Requirements • Juris Doctor degree or Master of Laws (LLM). , • Admitted to practice law in New York.
