Auto Sr. Liability Adjuster

About the position The Hanover Insurance Group has been committed to delivering on our promises for over 170 years. Our Auto Liability team is currently seeking a Sr. Adjuster in various locations including Southfield, MI, Howell, MI, Richmond, VA, Phoenix, AZ, Atlanta, GA, Henderson, NV, and Worcester, MA. This position is a full-time, exempt role that operates under a Hybrid work model, allowing for 2 or 3 days of remote work each week. The role involves the analysis, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of complex claims, requiring thorough investigations and technical expertise. Claim assignments may involve both personal and commercial customers. Responsibilities • Investigate, analyze, evaluate, and negotiate claims of minimal to moderate complexity using discretion and independent judgment. , • Be responsible for some to all aspects of each claim, including informal hearings, arbitrations, and small claims litigation. , • Maintain a high level of productivity, confidentiality, and customer service. , • Handle claims that involve moderate complexity, severity, and exposures. , • Implement and coordinate effective management techniques to mitigate loss and expense payments. , • Work within specific limits and authority on assignments of moderate technical complexity. , • Possess functional knowledge and skills reflective of a fully competent practitioner. , • May provide training and mentoring to adjusters. , • Secure and maintain appropriate state adjuster license(s) and continuing education credits. Requirements • Prior Bodily Injury claims handling experience of 4+ years. , • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. , • Dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. , • Strong organizational and time management skills. , • Ability to negotiate skillfully in difficult situations with both internal and external groups. , • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills. , • Understanding of applicable statutes, regulations, and case law. , • Critical thinking skills to anticipate, recognize, identify, and develop solutions to problems. , • Ability to adapt to new or different changing situations, requirements, or priorities.
