[Remote] Websphere Administrator

The role involves managing WebSphere Application Server environments, supporting cloud infrastructure, and providing technical consulting to IT management and teams.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and deploy WebSphere Application Server environments on AIX and Linux
- Perform upgrades, patching, and security remediation activities
- Monitor system and application performance and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with development teams to design, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications
- Develop shell scripts and automate administrative tasks
- Configure and support Apache HTTP Server, IBM HTTP Server, and IIS environments
- Implement and maintain SSL security configurations
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues
- Participate in defining enterprise integration and implementation strategies
- Provide architectural guidance and consultation to application development teams
- Advise on API security, policy management, and integration best practices
- Analyze application code and system behavior to support troubleshooting efforts
- Collaborate with middleware, infrastructure, and platform teams to deliver technical solutions
- Provide senior-level consulting to IT management and technical staff
- Define and document technical requirements, workflows, system interfaces, controls, and outputs
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions
- Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and process improvement initiatives
- Develop automated testing and stress-testing solutions
- Administer cloud environments across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform
- Deploy, manage, and support applications hosted in cloud environments
- Monitor and support workloads running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
- Design and implement containerized and microservices-based solutions
- Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters in both cloud and on-premises environments
- Work with cloud vendors and hosting providers to recommend and implement infrastructure solutions
- Support enterprise container orchestration and cloud-native application platforms

- 12+ years of overall relevant IT experience
- 5+ years supporting Kubernetes environments, including Amazon EKS and Azure AKS
- 5+ years of WebSphere Application Server administration
- 5+ years administering application security products
- 5+ years administering enterprise integration platforms
- 5+ years working with government agencies
- 5+ years providing senior-level technical consulting to IT management and technical teams
- 3+ years advising IT leadership on emerging technologies and strategic solutions
- 2+ years of cloud platform administration experience
- Conduct system and software audits
- Analyze business requirements and evaluate secure technology solutions
- Advanced knowledge of cloud technologies, identity and access management (IAM), and privileged access management
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Single Sign-On (SSO), network load balancers, firewalls, and IP subnetting
- Monitoring tools including Splunk, Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and AWS CloudWatch
- CI/CD and automation tools including Ansible, Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, and Bitbucket
- Version control systems such as Git and Subversion
- Storage infrastructure administration
- Salesforce and MuleSoft integration platforms
- Application development, deployment, and implementation methodologies
- Web services, APIs, messaging systems, data integration, and transformation technologies
- SSL certificates, cryptography, networking, databases, and middleware troubleshooting
- REST and SOAP service integration, including JSON-to-SOAP and SOAP-to-JSON transformations
- API design, implementation, and extension development
- Experience with Salesforce and MuleSoft administration and integration
- Experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps practices
